Roadschooling. Working from the road. Leaving it all behind. These all sound better to us than any of the other alternatives. So we're cleaning out the house and trying to whittle down our possessions into what we can store at relatives' houses and fit into a van and travel trailer.
This is our first pass at donating clothes. Seven people, seven boxes. Somehow the picture doesn't quite convey the amount of chaos this project required! We're aiming for 100 pounds per person of stuff to come on the trip. Clothes, bedding, bathroom, entertainment. We've done a lot of research, and this seems like a good number. Of course, we haven't really gathered our 100 pounds, so we don't know if that's a good amount. I've put my clothes in a plastic storage dresser, and that's about 26 pounds. I have other hanging clothes, too, that I haven't weighed yet. Oh, and shoes. And allllllll the other stuff I want to bring. This is going to be a long journey.
